Size Guides

There's so much to think about when buying home textiles, whether it's bedding sizes, material, length of overhang for a tablecloth, eyelet vs pencil pleat curtains... the list goes on and on!

That's where we come in. Our aim is to try and make choosing the right product for your needs as simple as possible. So we've created a list of things we think you should be aware of before purchase. If there's anything that we've missed, or if you would like clarification on anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email, sales@eleganthome.co.uk, and we'd be happy to help!

Curtains
The majority of our curtain sets include 2 curtain panels of the same size with a pair of tie-backs. There are a variety of different fitting styles available, the most popular being pencil pleat header tops and eleyet tops. The style of fitting will be outlined on the product details page.

When selecting the required curtain size, there are a few factors you should consider.
- 1) The actual window size. You will need to measure the width and drop (length from top to bottom).
- 2) You should also allow for the position of your curtain track or pole.
- 3) The way you would like the curtains to hang should also be kept in mind when selecting the length. You can have the curtains hang to the sill, providing a clean finish, just below the sill for a more relaxed look, to the floor for a refined and elegant aesthetic, or beyond the floor which is ideal for larger rooms with lofty ceilings, providing a lavish and sophisticated finish.

Standard available sizes of curtains are:

2 Curtain Panels (46" wide x 54" drop) & 2 Tie-Backs

Tablecloths
When selecting a tablecloth size, start by measuring your table's dimensions, taking into account the desired overhang, and also factor in the shape of the table.

For a more formal setting, we would recommend an overhang of between 12"-16" (30cm to 40cm), and between 6"-12" (15cm to 30cm) for a more relaxed setting. The amount of overhang is a personal preference, and you may want to consider if children will be about or the type of aesthetic required.

Some of our tablecloths come as pre-packed sets and the sizes cannot be amended, and some are cut to order such as the PVC and Acrylic ranges, and so we can adjust to your table sizes as required.

Steps for selecting the correct size:
For Square, Rectangle and Oval Tables:
1) Measure the length and width
2) Add the required overhang to each, eg, add 30cm to the length and width measurements if you require 15cm overhang on all sides of the table
2) Select the closest size available from the drop down menu, carefully reading the shape options available

For Round Tables:
1) Measure the diameter, making sure the measurement goes through the centre of the table
2) Add the required overhang, eg, add 30cm to the length and width if you require 15cm overhang all around the table
2) Select the closest size available from the drop down menu, carefully reading the shape options available
